TECHNIQUE
Meets Monday evenings (8pm onwards) and Saturday mornings
(10 – 12 noon)
Group Leaders: Bob Dallow
The
group offers members an informal and practical approach to
acquiring the necessary technical skills required for successful
photography, including film processing and printing. Those
attending have access to the Society's darkroom and studio
equipment.
STUDIO
GROUP
Meets every other Tuesday at 8pm
Group Leader: Roger Parry, ARPS, DPAGB, AFIAP, Hon PAGB.
The
Group offers SPS Members the opportunity to work with experienced
models in a professionally equipped studio. Help is available
to newcomers in studio work. A charge is made at each meeting
to cover model fees. Photographs taken at these sessions can
be entered into internal and external competitions, but must
not be used for commercial purposes without the permission
of both the Society and the model concerned.
NATURE
GROUP
Meets 2nd Wednesday evening of every month at 8pm
Group Leader: Tony Wharton FRPS AFIAP
The
group meets both in the clubrooms and ‘in the field’.
The meetings are designed to improve your knowledge of a wide
range of natural history subjects and the best ways to photograph
them.
BLACK
COUNTRY BLACK & WHITE GROUP
Meets 1st Tuesday in the month at 8pm
Group Leader: Judith Parry DPAGB Hon PAGB
The
group is for both darkroom and digital monochrome workers.
A varied programme of short talks and demonstrations take
place, plus the opportunity to discuss one's work with like-minded
photographers. External trips and visits are arranged during
the summer months.
DIGITAL
GROUP
Meets 3rd Friday of each month at 8pm
Group Leader: Mike Williams
This group provides a seminar based series of meetings that cover a range of topics aimed at complementing the photographers’ practical experience as they seek to improve their photographic techniques Using digital technology.
The meetings provide interactive discussions that highlight a range of digital photographic techniques, such as software demonstrations and technical demonstrations covering the topics that members want.
